Ahh… it’s February—the month brimming with exorbitant amounts of pink and red colors, hearts, chocolates, stuffed plushies, romance, and declarations of love. Guys are rushing to book nice places and buying gifts for their special ladies in anticipation of Valentine’s Day.
I’ve had quite the terrible track record with Valentine’s Day. I have never had a great Valentine’s Day. I was always alone and single when that day rolled around for one reason or another. This year will be completely different though. For the first time ever, I will have someone to celebrate V-Day with.
My wonderful boyfriend Paul has been super encouraging and supportive of my passion for art ever since the first day we met. He has been to all of my shows and has gone out of his way to make sure I succeed in whatever I want to do. As an artist, it is so important to have a significant other who is supportive of you and your work. I have never felt so loved and cherished before in my life. It’s hard to contain such happiness. I can’t wait to share Valentine’s Day with him :)
In the picture: Paul took me to Sugarbaby’s Cupcake Boutique last Thursday on Feb-2 to try out the delicious cupcakes. This is probably my favorite picture of us so far. We were dressed very nicely that day because I had an art show later in the evening. I fell in love with the sweet and girly decor. I think I loved the decor more than the cupcakes! :P
Happy February! :)
This mini portrait was inspired by Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2010. I love the medieval art elements in this collection. It’s one of my favorites of his.
Happy New Year everyone! Hahaha it’s been so long since I have made a post. I have a couple of new paintings done that I haven’t gotten around to scanning or photographing yet. I really should hop to it this week, huh?
I hope you all had a great winter holiday. I made a lot of new year resolutions that I am determined to keep this year. 2012 is the year of the Dragon-which is ALWAYS GOOD LUCK AND AUSPICIOUS! I was born in the year of the Dragon, and so far so many good things have been happening already. :D
Anywhoooo, I saw this fashion photo somewhere and it was so pretty I wanted to try painting it on a piece of wood I had lying around. I just loved her head dress and the soft orange colors. Let me know what you think :)
On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me…
A patridge in a pear tree!
Hey everyone! How is your holiday so far? I’ve been stashing a lot of ideas for clothing designs lately. Usually my fashion designs are too avant-garde for an average girl, so I wanted to design a few holiday dresses that were cute and wearable. So today here is a sketch of a holiday dress I designed. :) I decided to make the colors red, yellow, and blue. It’s a fun really girly dress.
It’s dress with a yellow bodice, heart wrapped waist with a cobalt satin skin strung with ivory pearls. On her feet are 4-tiered sheet stockings with red heart prints and black Maryjane flats. So what do you think?
Hoping you’re all having a great week so far!
Happy Thursday everyone,
It’s partly cloudy today, which totally ruined my plans to take photographs of my artwork :( Don’t you hate when the weather doesn’t suit your needs?
This painting is a mixed media cut paper collage I made earlier this year. It’s a scene from a fairytale I am working on. It’s called “The Emperor and the Sea Princess.” :)
Once upon a time in a land in the Far East, there was a kingdom ruled by a young Emperor, Jianan. This kingdom was nestled on the cliffs on the shores of a turbulent sea. Emperor Jianan’s favorite pastime was to take a little boat out to sea and fish. One day while he was fishing, he caught a giant turtle instead of a fish! To his surprise it could also speak. It looked up at him with tears in its eyes, begging him to let it go free. “Please kind sir, if you release me I promise you won’t regret it.” Jianan had a kind heart, so of course he could not refuse the poor turtle. He let it go back into the waters and went back to fishing. Many days passed by and soon the strange encounter with the talking turtle slipped into the back of Jianan’s mind.
One night a giant storm raged outside the palace walls. Rain pelted the windows and the waves crashed against the cliffs all night. In the morning Jianan woke up soaked, his room flooded with water. But it wasn’t the rain that had washed into the room. It was sea water. Jianan opened the doors to his balcony, and was floored by the sight before him.
She was the most beautiful creature he had ever laid eyes on. She came out of the water-half woman and half fish.
“Jianan, I’ve been waiting for you,” she said, smiling.
“W-who are you?”
“I am the turtle you released many days ago.”
Well, hoped you liked that little bit of the story. I’m hoping to get to painting more scenes soon!
“The Boat Ride”
Happy Thursday everyone! Hope you’re all having a great week so far.
I finally took some pictures of my new art work today. In 39 degree weather no less, haha. So cold!
This painting is of one of my fairytale characters, Euna. She’s on a dreamy boat ride through an unknown landscape ;) The dress is inspired by Christopher Kane Spring 2007.
My answer:Awww thank you so much! <3 It’s always an honor to hear that :)
Hey everyone!
Here’s another new painting for you all. It’s inspired by Chanel’s Spring 2010 Couture collection. I just love the bow hairstyles, don’t you? So adorable :)

Hi everyone! How’s your weekend been? I finally finished this painting on Thursday. I just got around to taking a picture of it. I’m really happy with the finished piece. It’s from Givenchy Fall 2011 Couture.
Hope you all have a great week! :)
